Bled–Bled Gorge–Vrba–Begunje
The tour will head towards Kranj,
starting the sightseeing with a walk through the impressive Bled
Gorge (Blejski Vintgar) formed by the Radovna river. After
exploring Bled Castle and trying a “kremšnita”, a type of
typical flaky pastry made with vanilla and whipped cream, we
will take a boat ride to Bled Island.
After a panoramic bus drive
around the lake, our excursion will continue to Vrba, the
birthplace of the greatest Slovenian poet, France Prešeren. We
will visit his house, which is also an ethnological museum. The
last part of our trip will follow the theme of Slovene national
music. We will visit the Avsenik museum in Begunje, which houses
a collection of exhibits concerning the career of Slavko
Avsenik, one of the most famous Slovenian musicians. Dinner will
be served in the Avsenik inn.
